The 173rd Owen Sound Fall Fair gets underway at Victoria Park today.
The three-day agricultural showcase opens at 4 p.m. Thursday and continues until Saturday evening. Owen Sound Agriculural Society Past President Hilary Breadner says a midway will be returning to the fair this year.
“It’s not a huge midway, but’s very family-focused and we’re just happy we’re able to bring something like this back to the fall fair,” she says.
Family entertainment — including truck and tractor pulls — and the midway opening are among the Day 1 activities at the Owen Sound Fall Fair.
Friday will include a number of 4-H shows, a home craft competition and more truck pulls.
And the final day of the fair, Saturday, there’s a number of activities being offered: dairy, horse and poultry shows, an ice cream and pie eating contest and a demolition derby among them.
“We also have brought in large bleachers so we have lots of seating for everybody,” Breadner says.
Ticket information for the Owen Sound Fall Fair is available here. You can purchase daily or weekend passes. Breadner says for the first time this year, passes can be purchased online.
