The post Port Elgin Pumpkinfest giant pumpkin drop is set for this weekend.
The event, which is put on by the Saugeen Shores Community Church is set to go Sunday, October 26th at 12:30 at the side yard of the church at 650 Green Street in Port Elgin.
The church usually uses a crane to drop big pumpkins and vegetables left behind by growers. In previous years they have dropped them into a pool, onto a trampoline, onto an old piano and straight onto the ground. There may be an old hot tub involved in this year’s drop.
There’s a candy drop, a kids play area and coffee and snacks.
The event is also a fundraiser for the Living Hope Food Basket and donations are being welcomed.
The event is sponsored by Harvey Design and Build.
