Saugeen Shores Police Charge Woman With Assaulting An Officer

Saugeen Shores police have charged a woman with assaulting a peace officer.

They say on July 15th, at about 5 p.m. police were dispatched to the area of Elgin Street and Goderich Street for a report of an erratic male who may have had a knife.

Police arrived on scene and located a male matching the description. While they were dealing with him, police say a woman began screaming and charged at officers.

Police say she punched one officer in the shoulder. They were able to gain control of the woman after a brief struggle and she was arrested.

Saugeen Shores police have charged a 42 year old woman of no fixed address assaulting a peace officer.

They note, the male that police were originally dealing with was deemed safe and did not require any assistance.
