Bruce Power is launching a survey to understand the community surrounding its site in Tiverton.
The Local Population Survey is open to residents who live within 10 kilometres of the company as well as those who take part in Bruce Power’s Environmental Monitoring Program.
“This survey gathers helpful information about the food and water that is consumed, and certain lifestyle activities such as swimming and fishing. This survey was last completed in 2015 and will be used to support our commitment to protect residents and the environment,” says Bruce Power in a release.
The company also has a second survey up measuring health and well-being and will be used for the impact assessment for the Bruce C Project.
The Bruce C Project proposes to add 4.800 MW of new nuclear generating capacity by adding four new reactors, which will operate for the next 60-100 years.
Senior Director of Environment and Sustainability Danielle LaCroix says, “We continually engage with local communities, including residents and Indigenous Nations and communities, to better understand their needs and expectations.”
