Grey Bruce OPP say they responded to a report of a dog attack this morning in Dundalk.
At about 8:45, police received a report of an unrestrained dog on Russell Street.
According to police, the dog bit one child and was attempting to bite another.
They say the owner was on scene trying to restrain the animal but was unsuccessful and one officer was bitten while trying to gain control of the animal.
OPP say in a statement, “In the interest of public safety, police shot the dog. It was later euthanized.”
Two people had minor injuries.
