Georgian Bluffs is welcoming a new member to its council.
Kilsyth resident Ejaye McComb has been appointed to council after a seat was left empty when Ryan Thompson stepped down in September to take over as the township’s chief administrative officer.
McComb has lived in Georgian Bluffs for 16 years.
He has held senior roles in both the private and public sectors.
He is also a well-known volunteer, and currently serves as the Vice-Chair for the Canadian Mental Health Association Grey Bruce.
McComb has also served on several community boards, including the Property Standards Committee of Georgian Bluffs, Tara Minor Soccer, and Chatsworth Minor Hockey, where he served as president for four years.
The appointment follows a public call for applications and a review process, followed by optional presentations by candidates and a closed session discussion by the existing members of council.
Certified applicants interested in the open council seat made brief presentations to council at its October 15th meeting. Council then considered all applicants and voted to appoint McComb, who will be sworn in at a special council meeting on November 5th.
The township received 15 applications to fill the role.
