There was a significant police presence at Bluewater Park in Wiarton today.
The OPP say they were conducting a search as part of an ongoing investigation, but are mum on additional details.
Bayshore News can confirm an area near the campground office at Bluewater Park is fenced off, and crews were using an excavator to dig into the ground.
Multiple OPP units were present. Some police officers began leaving the area just after 3 p.m. Tuesday.
“There is no concern for public safety at this time. Updates will be provided when appropriate,” OPP say in a social media post.
A Grey Bruce OPP spokesperson did not respond to a request for more information by publication time.
