A South Bruce Peninsula resident is facing multiple criminal charges following a report of a suspected impaired driver in the Township of Georgian Bluffs.
On Oct. 3 at approximately 10:52 p.m., Grey Bruce OPP received a call from a concerned citizen reporting a vehicle travelling at a high rate of speed, weaving within its lane and crossing into oncoming traffic.
Officers located the vehicle on Girl Guide Road near Grey Road 17 in Georgian Bluffs. While police were observing the vehicle, it failed to negotiate a turn and entered a ditch. The driver was subsequently arrested.
A 61-year-old South Bruce Peninsula resident has been charged with dangerous operation and operation while impaired.
A 90-day Administrative Driver’s Licence Suspension (ADLS) and a seven-day vehicle impoundment were initiated as per statute.
The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Owen Sound on Nov. 12, 2026.
