Owen Sound Family Health Team (OSFHT) workers who were on strike for months are now back on the job.
The Ontario Public Service Employee’s Union (OPSEU) Local 276 says in an joint update alongside the family health team posted to social media Sunday, they are “pleased to share that the parties have ratified a renewal collective agreement to effectively end the labour disruption.”
The unionized nurses, pharmacists, dietitians and other medical professionals had been on strike since late May.
They say, “Both parties worked collaboratively throughout the bargaining process to reach an agreement that recognizes the contributions of employees while supporting the OSFHT commitment to delivering high-quality healthcare services to the community. Normal operations will resume effective Monday October 05, 2026.”
The statement adds, “Thank you to community partners and residents for their patience and understanding throughout the disruption.”
They returned to the job Monday, October 5th.
