The Owen Sound Attack made a surprise announcement Thursday morning, announcing the departure of recently hired Associate Coach and Director of Player Development Mike LaZazzera.
A statement from the team says the Attack and LaZazzera mutually agreed to part ways.
“We want to thank Mike for his dedication, professionalism, and the impact he has had on our players and programs,” Attack President and General Manager Tyler Nother says in a release. “We appreciate everything Mike has contributed to the organization.”
LaZazzera, 61, was just hired by the Attack in July. There is no indication from the club about what led to his departure just six games into the 2026-27 Ontario Hockey League season.
