Residents in Bruce and Grey counties can drop off old paint cans and other household hazardous materials responsibly at a pair of upcoming events.
The City of Owen Sound is hosting the first of eight hazardous household waste events in 2026 this weekend.
The event will take place from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, April 25, at the public works facility located at 1900 20th Street East.
Residents are asked to bring their identification which indicates their home address. The hazardous waste drop-off event in Owen Sound is open to residents of Owen Sound, Chatsworth, Georgian Bluffs, Grey Highlands and Meaford.

Meantime, Bruce County is hosting a Household Hazardous Waste Collection event on Saturday, May 2 in Southampton.
It will run from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Southampton Works Yard, located at 429 Peel Street.
County officials say 13 Household Hazardous Waste Collection Events are scheduled across Bruce County in 2026.
