Saugeen First Nation firefighters responded to a fire Tuesday.
They say at about 11 that morning, they were called due to a fire that had started in a cottage bedroom. They say they arrived promptly to find it had been contained to the single bedroom before they got there.
Firefighters say thanks to working smoke alarms, working fire extinguishers, and the quick thinking of the homeowner, only minor damage occurred.
They say, “Having been alerted by the smoke alarms, the homeowner quickly grabbed the working extinguisher and applied it to the spreading flames.”
