West Grey Council will consider renewing the Stothart Hall funding agreement with the Municipality of Grey Highlands today.
In 2015, the Municipality of West Grey and the Municipality of Grey Highlands signed a funding agreement for Stothart Hall in Priceville. West Grey agreed to compensate Grey Highlands one-third of the annual operating losses for the facility.
The original agreement ran from 2015 to 2019, with a five-year renewal that ran until 2024.
Stothart Hall usage data for the period from 2021 to 2025 indicates 6.15 per cent of total hall rentals were by Durham residents.
Stothart Hall rental revenue for the period from 2021 to 2025 was $11,888. Total operating losses for Stothart Hall in that same time were $57,777, with West Grey’s one-third share of operating losses being $19,259.
The new agreement, if signed, would start on Jan. 1, 2026.
