Bruce County broke ground on a new housing development in Walkerton earlier this week.
County staff and elected officials, and Huron-Bruce MPP Lisa Thompson gathered Monday to mark the official start of construction on the Eastridge Road Community Housing Development.
The project will create 41 new affordable homes and expand housing options for people at different stages of life.
According to a county release, the Eastridge development will help meet the housing needs of workers across a range of sectors, including health care, child care, skilled trades, service industries, and other essential areas.
The $16.4-million project is an investment by Bruce County into affordable housing in Brockton, reflecting the value of strong partnerships and a shared commitment to addressing local housing needs.
