The Big Canoe won’t be docking in Owen Sound this winter.
The Owen Sound Transportation Company says the MS Chi-Cheemaun will proceed to dry dock for a standard five-year inspection after the 2026 ferry season ends.
The Chi-Cheemaun is not expected to return to the Owen Sound Harbour this year for its winter berth.
“With the vessel scheduled for inspection, there will be no fall repositioning cruise this year,” the Owen Sound Transportation Company says in a statement.
The MS Chi-Cheemaun serves as a passenger and vehicle ferry between Tobermory and Manitoulin Island during the warmer months. This year’s sailing season ends on Oct. 18.
