The OPP say they discovered thousands of illegal unmarked cigarettes during a RIDE check in Grey Highlands on Halloween.
Grey Bruce OPP officers stopped a car on West Back Line this past Saturday and allege they spotted cannabis inside the vehicle, leading to a further search which turned up about 7,000 unmarked cigarettes.
The 41-year-old driver of the vehicle, a Grey Highlands resident, was charged with Tobacco Tax Act, Cannabis Control Act and Highway Traffic Act offences.
“Unmarked cigarettes are illegal in Ontario and contribute to the illegal tobacco market while avoiding provincial taxes,” OPP say in a statement.
